Greetings Parents, Students, and Stakeholders!
Welcome back to what will be an unusual, but exciting school year! I hope that you and your loved ones are in good health and you found time to enjoy the summer. I know that this is a difficult time for parents and the usual “back to school” routines have been disrupted for everyone. Nevertheless, whether virtual or face to face, I am confident that our students, parents, faculty and community stakeholders will “improvise, adapt and overcome” to make this a successful year for our students.
I am extremely excited about returning for another great year as the principal of Kilpatrick and I look forward to working with each of you. Our teachers have been busy preparing their classrooms and materials for students to be successful while learning from home.
Thus, in an effort to work together towards our students’ success, we encourage you to support your child’s learning by ensuring that he/she:
- Logs in to his/her teacher’s Google Classroom on time, ready to learn daily. Instruction will begin at 7:45.
- Completes and submits all classroom and homework assignments given by teachers
- Communicate with the teacher(s) and staff as needed via Google Classroom(s); telephone conversations, email correspondence, etc.
- Check email at least once daily and respond to any teacher or staff inquiries within 24 hours.
- Exhibits appropriate behavior and virtual etiquette: Attire, Attitude, Attendance, Awareness
- Reads at least 20 minutes daily to develop a love for reading and to improve literacy skills.
- Believes that he/she can succeed in school and that they will be college and/ or career ready
